From labor efficiency and preventative maintenance to sustainability, technology, and guest experience, this 12-week internship connects data-driven thinking with Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond service standards while building practical skills for a career in industrial engineering, operations, or hospitality.

What You Will Create

  • Smarter, more efficient operations by analyzing workflows, labor, productivity, and service processes across departments and developing data-driven recommendations that improve performance
  • Greater operational consistency through time studies, labor modeling, standard operating procedures, and Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement initiatives
  • More informed decisions through data collection and analysis, dashboards, reporting, and recommendations that give leaders visibility into KPIs such as labor efficiency, response times, and maintenance performance
  • More reliable engineering operations through preventative maintenance planning, scheduling optimization, work-order tracking, asset management, and equipment performance analysis
  • Meaningful sustainability progress through analysis of energy and water usage and support of initiatives that improve resource efficiency
  • Stronger guest experiences by identifying operational improvements that increase efficiency without compromising luxury service standards
  • Successful projects through support of cost reduction, service innovation, new systems, emerging technologies, and other initiatives while tracking timelines, deliverables, implementation, and results
  • Consistent facility quality through participation in inspections and quality assurance reviews that identify opportunities for improvement
  • A tangible demonstration of your development through an experiential project connecting academic learning with a meaningful operational challenge

What You Can Expect

  • A hands-on 12-week experience where industrial engineering concepts move beyond the classroom and into a dynamic luxury resort operation
  • Exposure to Engineering, Facilities, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Front Office, and other operational disciplines, providing a broader view of how the resort works together to deliver exceptional service
  • Practical experience with operational data, Microsoft Excel, dashboards, reporting tools, facilities management systems, and engineering technologies
  • A fast-paced environment where priorities evolve and successful solutions require analytical thinking, adaptability, and collaboration
  • Direct exposure to leadership through presenting findings, recommendations, and project outcomes
  • Experience connecting efficiency, cost management, sustainability, technology, and process improvement with luxury hospitality standards
  • A professional foundation for future opportunities in industrial engineering, operations analysis, engineering, facilities, process improvement, and hospitality management

What You Bring

  • Curiosity about how systems, processes, and people work together, paired with a structured, analytical approach to solving problems
  • The ability to translate data and observations into practical recommendations that work for the people and operations they are designed to support
  • Clear, confident communication skills and the ability to adapt your approach when working with leaders, technical teams, and operational departments
  • Thoughtful initiative, including the confidence to ask questions, challenge inefficiencies, and explore better ways of working
  • Strong ownership and follow-through, with attention to the details that move projects from analysis through implementation and measurable results
  • The ability to work independently while remaining a collaborative partner when projects cross departmental boundaries
  • An interest in continuous improvement and the potential for engineering, technology, and data to elevate both operational performance and the guest experience

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required
  • Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a bachelor’s degree program in industrial engineering or a related discipline
  • Previous internship or coursework in process improvement or operations analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI preferred
  • Understanding of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies preferred
  • Exposure to facilities management systems or Engineering operations preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
