Engineering Intern - Industrial Services (IS)

Reports to: Industrial Services Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

Support the Industrial Services (IS) team in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of utility systems, including Compressed Air, Process Water, Chilled Water, Steam, and Gas. The role involves assisting with utility operations, preventive maintenance activities, performance monitoring, and energy and water optimization initiatives to support uninterrupted production and sustainable factory operations.

A DAY IN THE LIFE …

• Review and update SHE maps, PPE Matrix, and safety-related documentation and visual controls.
• Assess and support the implementation and sustainability of 5S practices within the Industrial Services area.
• Establish visual standards, checklists, and follow-up mechanisms to maintain workplace organization and compliance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to support safety, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records related to safety controls, PPE requirements, visual management, and 5S activities.
• Support the operation and maintenance of utility systems, including Compressed Air, Process Water, Chilled Water, Steam, and Gas, ensuring supply within required parameters.
• Assist in preventive maintenance activities for utility equipment to ensure reliability and efficiency.
• Support the implementation of energy and water reduction projects within the factory.
• Provide support to the department in various day-to-day operational activities, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives as required.

What will make you successful…

• Bachelor's Degree student or recent graduate in a relevant Engineering discipline.
• Strong interest in Industrial Services, Utilities, Maintenance, and Manufacturing Operations.
• Basic knowledge of industrial safety practices and risk management.
• Familiarity with 5S, Lean Manufacturing, or Continuous Improvement is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across teams.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a manufacturing environment.
