ENGINEERING INTERNSHIP
Central Office, Waco, Texas
OF INTERNSHIP: Supports the activities in the Engineering Services Department, including providing technical and operational support to the team. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: assist in data collection, data entry, computerized analysis and report preparation; use PC software to select, sort, and display data; assist in researching engineer reports for relevant data and documenting sources and assumptions of such data; and assist in analysis.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of: personal computers and standard software; general office procedures; and principles of math, engineering, and earth sciences. Skill/Ability to: follow directions and guidance; conduct research and apply information; operate a personal computer and standard software; perform data entry tasks quickly and accurately; read and understand technical materials; demonstrate proficiency in both oral and written communication; establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Preference for those that have completed two years of college with a major in engineering or related field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
HOURLY RATE $15.00 per hour - 40 hours per week.

Today, BRA's staff develops and distributes water supplies, provides water and wastewater treatment, monitors water quality, and pursues water conservation through public education programs. The Brazos River Authority was created by the Texas Legislature in 1929 as the first government entity in the United States created specifically for the purpose of developing and managing the water resources of an entire river basin.
Today, the BRA's staff of more than 250 develop and distribute water supplies, provide water and wastewater treatment, monitor water quality, and pursue water conservation through public education programs.
The Brazos River Authority is entirely self-supporting, except for occasional governmental grants to help pay the costs of specific projects. The BRA does not levy or collect taxes; rather maintains and operates reservoirs and treatment systems using revenues from the customers it serves.
