Specialized is seeking a Engineering Intern who lives and breathes mountain bike technology—someone who can push the boundaries of performance and make our bikes the best in the world. HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
· Technical Learning: Support mechanical and electrical design tasks under guidance from engineers.
· Innovation & Development: Assist with CAD modeling, drawing updates, and basic design documentation.
· Problem Solving: Perform basic analysis or calculations as assigned.
· Project Support: Participate in prototype builds, test setup, and teardown activities. Assist with data collection during lab and field testing. Support fabrication of prototypes and test hardware, including:
o Basic machining operations (e.g., drilling, tapping, simple lathe/mill work)
o Additive manufacturing (3D printing setup, part preparation, and post-processing)
o Light electrical and electromechanical assembly, including basic soldering
o Assembly and modification of fixtures, test rigs, and experimental hardware
· Collaboration & Communication: Participate in design reviews, team meetings, and technical discussions. Maintain organized records of work, observations, and results.
· Quality Assurance: Participate in testing and validation of new designs to ensure they meet required standards.
WHAT YOU NEED TO WIN
· Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
· Hands-on experience with shop tools, rapid prototyping, or fabrication processes (academic, personal, or internship projects)
· Basic experience with CAD software (e.g., CREO, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
· Project management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and engage with diverse stakeholders.
· Willingness to learn and accept feedback.
· Passion for mountain biking.
