Join us for an enriching internship opportunity at our Headquarters location in Springfield, MO. This year-round, in person internship experience. Starting in May 2026 and continues into 2027 with availability to work throughout both the academic year and summer. For details on earning potential course credit, please contact your school’s career center.

Qualified applicants must be currently enrolled at the time of the internship in engineering, engineering management, construction management or related technical field and have successfully completed two (2) years of work towards a bachelor’s degree.

As an engineering student, projects may include the following:

  • Assist with coordination of compliance activities, including data collection, report review, audit support, and investigation of potential non-compliance issues.
  • Support development and maintenance of transmission system models (e.g. bus/branch and network models) used for planning and operational studies.
  • Conduct basic load flow transmission system analyses. Write technical reports.
  • Design, track, and test tools, scripts, displays, procedures, and reports for Operations and Planning functions.
  • Assist with engineering documentation, database updates, and process improvement related to system planning and operations.
  • Support the engineering departments by examining trends, events, and adverse conditions on the Bulk Electric System.
