Engineering Intern
General Description/Purpose
The Engineering Intern will provide a high level of service to ensure employee, customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. The Engineering Intern does this by effectively supporting engineering department operations, projects, and programs. The Engineering Intern completes these functions in the support of the manufacture of furniture.
Job Responsibilities
Provides administrative support to the engineering department including but not limited to evaluating manufacturing processes, value stream, performing time studies, and efficiency calculations in manufacturing.
Assists in updating operations standards in our ERP's systems
Demonstrates the ability to apply Lean principles
Collaborates with the engineering team on process layouts
Communicates and works effectively with all other manufacturing employees and other various company personnel and outside vendors.
Display strong organizational, analytical, and follow up skills and maintain a strong drive for delivering results.
Essential Skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and knowledge of weights and measure, utilize measuring tools such as tape measures and other measuring devices to sufficiently handle job tasks
· Good organizational skills and have ability to prioritize
· Strong computer skills (proficient with Microsoft Office, i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
