ASRC Federal System Solutions is seeking Engineering / Installation Technicians to support the FAA’s Radar System Replacement (RSR) program, the largest and most significant radar modernization effort within the National Airspace System (NAS). The Engineering / Installation Technician will perform hands-on installation, cabling, integration, and testing activities associated with the deployment of new cooperative, non-cooperative, and integrated surveillance systems at FAA facilities nationwide.

Work location: Remote, travel required
Clearance: Public Trust. US Citizenship to successfully complete a government investigation.

This role is central to the successful physical installation and startup of cooperative and integrated non-cooperative/cooperative radar systems. The Engineering / Installation Technician will execute field installation tasks across radar rooms, antenna structures, power and grounding systems, and remote facilities, working closely with system engineers, construction managers, and customer representatives.

The Engineering / Installation Technician will support logistics activities, equipment installation, power and grounding connections, cabling, antenna installation, and installation acceptance testing (IAT). This position requires strong technical aptitude, field experience with complex electronic systems, strict adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work effectively in active operational environments under a compressed deployment schedule.

Responsibilities
• Perform field installation and integration activities for cooperative, non-cooperative, and integrated surveillance systems, including Automatic Dependent Surveillance–Broadcast (ADS-B).
• Support logistics and mobilization activities, including receipt, staging, distribution, and handling of equipment and materials.
• Install radar room equipment, racks, antennas, cabling, power, grounding, and associated infrastructure in accordance with approved designs and procedures.
• Execute cabling and interconnection activities between radar systems, antennas, power systems, and customer interfaces.
• Coordinate installation activities with engineering teams, construction management, and customer representatives to support schedule and site readiness.
• Support installation acceptance testing (IAT) and system start-up activities in coordination with system engineers.
• Identify, document, and resolve installation issues encountered during field activities.
• Prepare required installation documentation, including daily and weekly status reports, photographic records, and as-built documentation.
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety, security, quality, and FAA operational requirements.

Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or technical training equivalent; relevant technical certifications or trade training preferred.
• 2-4 years of demonstrated experience performing field installation of electronic, communications, radar, or similar complex technical systems.
• Hands-on experience with equipment installation, rack mounting, structured cabling, power cabling, and grounding systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, installation manuals, and method of procedures (MOPs).
• Experience working in controlled or operational environments requiring strict adherence to safety and quality procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve installation issues in the field.
• Ability to document work clearly through reports, photographs, and as-built drawings.
• Willingness and ability to travel to FAA sites nationwide and work extended hours as required.
• Physical ability to perform field work, including lifting, climbing, working in confined spaces, and working at heights.
• US Citizenship to successfully complete a government investigation.

Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience supporting FAA programs, radar systems, air traffic management systems, or NAS infrastructure.
• Experience with PSR, MSSR, ADS-B, or similar radar and surveillance systems.
• Familiarity with SPDs, grounding systems, and coaxial cable installations.
• Experience supporting installation acceptance testing (IAT) and system startup activities.
• OSHA safety training, tower climbing certification, or equivalent field safety credentials.
• Experience working on multi-site deployment programs with parallel installation schedules.
• Ability to work effectively with multinational OEM teams and customer stakeholders.
