Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role
The School of Engineering (Te Kura Mata-Ao) seeks two experienced and motivated persons to join its team as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer based in Tauranga. These role offer an exciting opportunity to contribute to teaching, research, postgraduate supervision, industry engagement, and academic leadership within a growing and innovative engineering environment.
The successful candidate(s) will play a key role in delivering high-quality, research-informed teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. They will be responsible for developing and coordinating courses, designing innovative learning experiences, supporting student success, and contributing to curriculum development in areas related to construction management and the built environment.
Working closely with industry partners the successful candidate(s) will develop research opportunities, strengthen industry-university collaboration, and ensure graduates are equipped with the skills and experience required by the construction sector.
The salary will be in the range of $113,428 to $132042 per year pro rata based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position. These are part-time roles (18.75 hours a week), based on our Tauranga Campus.

You are passionate about advancing construction management through teaching, research, and industry engagement. You bring expertise in one or more areas of construction management and project delivery, such as construction planning and scheduling, project controls, cost management, procurement, contract administration, construction law, BIM, digital construction, sustainable construction, modern methods of construction, or construction innovation.
You will also enjoy building strong industry connections, creating meaningful learning opportunities for students, and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

The School of Engineering (Te Kura Mata-Ao) offers BE(Hons) degree programmes in Chemical & Process Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Materials & Process Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and a Graduate diploma in Engineering Management. Research and development strengths are in, energy, water, robotics, sensing, biomedical engineering, materials, construction, infrastructure and structural engineering.
