Job Summary

The Engineering Group Lead will be responsible for managing a team of Design Engineers working to design innovative, industry-leading products with superior quality and manufacturability in mind.

Primary Duties

  • Lead and manage a group of engineers, ensuring alignment with team goals and company objectives.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and career development for team members.
  • Perform regular performance evaluations, set clear expectations, and provide feedback to help engineers grow in their roles.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of all CAD work (your own as well as team members) and maintain well organized records; utilize 3D modeling software to produce new 3D models and drawings, and drawings or revised designs.
  • Work closely with test engineers to create appropriate test and validation plans for your and your team’s designs.
  • Apply concurrent engineering techniques on all projects, and work and communicate closely with all team members from your group, other groups, and various other departments.

Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of SolidWorks, FEA, GD&T and Microsoft office products.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of automotive mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Understanding of manufacturing capabilities; i.e. machining, casting, molding, and electronics assembly.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of Engineering experience, design or manufacturing preferred
  • Experience in managing a cross-functional team supporting design, quality, and manufacturing preferred.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay equity. Compensation decisions are made based on the specific facts and circumstances of each role and candidate.This role is also eligible for a bonus.
