We are seeking an experienced and visionary Engineering Director to lead our engineering organization at our facility at SO/ Sofitel Hua Hin. In this strategic leadership role, you will oversee all engineering operations, drive technical excellence, and build high-performing teams that deliver innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with exceptional leadership capabilities, demonstrating the ability to make decisive decisions while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes innovation, accountability, and professional growth
  • Define and execute engineering strategy aligned with organizational objectives, ensuring technical excellence and operational efficiency
  • Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring projects meet quality standards, timelines, and budget requirements
  • Analyze complex technical challenges and make strategic decisions that balance technical requirements with business objectives
  • Manage engineering budgets, resource allocation, and capital expenditures to optimize operational efficiency
  • Establish and implement engineering processes, standards, and best practices to enhance productivity and quality
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and develop career paths for direct reports
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, quality, and business units to align engineering initiatives with organizational goals
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and optimization within engineering operations
  • Represent the engineering function in senior leadership meetings and strategic planning sessions
  • Manage vendor relationships and external partnerships to support engineering objectives
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to maintain competitive advantage

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive engineering experience with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and developing engineering teams of varying sizes
  • Strong technical expertise and deep understanding of engineering principles, practices, and methodologies relevant to the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans that drive organizational success
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Experience with budget management, P&L responsibility, and resource planning
  • Strong project management skills with experience delivering complex projects on time and within budget
  • Proficiency in performance management, talent development, and organizational design
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and continuous improvement practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural and international environments
  • Familiarity with Agile or other modern engineering methodologies
  • Experience with vendor and stakeholder management
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives
