Arthrex is actively searching for a student pursuing a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Mechanical, Biomedical or Chemical Engineering or Materials Science/Engineering degree, to support the Supplier Quality team in Fort Myers, FL (ALC – Arthrex Logistics Center). The Supplier Quality Assurance team at ALC is responsible for reviewing, containing, dispositioning, and evaluating nonconforming product from Arthrex’s supply base. Additionally, the team works with the suppliers and Arthrex Supply Chain to take actions with suppliers to mitigate recurrence with our suppliers and take appropriate corrective actions. A successful candidate for this role will work alongside Supplier Quality Engineers and Specialists to aid in these activities, while also reviewing processes for opportunities for improvement. The individual will prepare engineering documentation and provide support on long-term project initiatives. This co-op will run from July 2026 - December 2026. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Fort Myers, FL facility.

Main Objective:

To work with the Supplier Quality Assurance group on executing daily tasks along with working on long-term projects and process improvements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze containments of nonconforming products.
  • Generate various documents, including dispositioning products.
  • Review supplier NCR reports, as well as provide suggestions for process improvements/enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency gains with engineering studies.
  • Obtain working knowledge of regulatory standards and their application.
  • Present findings to various stakeholders through metrics driven presentations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Enrolled as a full-time student pursuing an engineering degree or a recent graduate within the last six months required. Sophomore or above, studying Mechanical, Biomedical or Chemical Engineering or Materials Science/Engineering preferred.
    (Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date to qualify.)
  • Statistical analysis experience (Minitab) preferred.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Ability to effectively communicate, oral and written, and possess the ability to work through technical issues.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

  • PC, ProEngineer or other 3D modeling software (SolidWorks).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
