We are seeking a motivated and dynamic co-op student to help the City of New Westminster’s Infrastructure Planning Division.Beginning approximately early September, this position will assist the division’s engineers in various projects related to Utility Engineering (Water, Drainage, Sanitary, Flood Protection, Integrated Storm Water Management), and other projects as assigned.
The duties include: Technical analysis, research and documentation related to the work; Collecting, maintaining, and summarizing a range of data sets, records, reports; Research and analysis; Document management; Public and stakeholder engagement; Field work; JDE support (financial accounting); Coordinate with other branches for Infrastructure/Utility Planning and ISMP project opportunities. In addition, you will perform technical tasks including using ESRI ArcGIS Pro to obtain spatial and attribute data from the City’s GIS team, preparing maps, plans, reports, calculation sheets, and other tasks assigned.
This 8 month co-op term will start approximately September 1, 2026 and will conclude by approximately April 30, 2027.
