<strong>I.</strong> <strong>Position Summary:</strong>
</div><div> </div><div>The Engineering Assistant is responsible for performing general facility maintenance to include but not limited to HVAC, lighting, data, phone, sound equipment, plumbing, painting, and other general maintenance as required.</div><div> </div><div>II. Essential Functions/Responsibilities:</div><div><strong> </strong></div><div>· Complete the repair of electrical components for facilities, including lighting, wire repair, electrical fixtures, control equipment, etc. </div><div>· Disassembles and repair defective equipment.</div><div>· Perform repairs, preventative and predictive maintenance. </div><div>· Supply clients using the facility with utility services, connect electrical equipment, fuse panels to adjust amp. </div><div>· Responsible for making basic repairs to facility plumbing, such as faucet maintenance and repair and replace. </div><div>· Responsible for making basic repairs to facility HVAC, such as repairing leaks in the system or replacing thermostats. </div><div>· Performs basic carpentry tasks; including but not limited to painting, sheet rock repair, doors, and hardware repair</div><div>· Interpret blue prints, manufacturer’s specifications and written and oral instructions.</div><div>· Responsible for assisting and maintaining maintenance records on Center equipment</div><div>· Responsible for the repair of the building and grounds</div><div>· All other duties as assigned</div><div><strong> </strong></div><div>III. Skills/Requirements:</div><div> </div><div>· Must be able to work scheduled shifts based on department needs</div><div>· Must be computer literate </div><div>· Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and manuals, blueprints and be able to calculate figures and take measurements</div><div>· Good communication skills are required</div><div>· Must be able to problem solve and have the ability to develop and recommend solutions </div><div>· Must be able to interact with people from various backgrounds</div><div>· Must be able to operate a forklift and scissor lift up to 65 feet in height.</div><div>· Must have a valid SC Driver’s License</div><div> </div><div>IV. Education Required:</div><div> </div><div>· High School diploma or GED required.</div><div>· 3-5 years of previous facility maintenance experience required. Must have remodeling experience or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.</div><div>· Must be certified to operate a forklift and scissor lift, or be able to achieve certification within three (3) months. </div><div>· Trade certifications preferred.</div><div> </div><div><strong> </strong></div><div><strong>DISCLAIMER</strong></div><div><strong> </strong></div><div>This job description indicates the general nature and level of work expected of the incumbent.
