Job Description

Wet Utilities Design Engineer will be responsible for designing water supply, firefighting, irrigation, stormwater, and wastewater networks in accordance with Oman authority standards. The role requires strong technical skills in hydraulic design, preparation of construction documentation, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams. This position is ideal for an engineer with around 5 years of experience in wet utilities design for infrastructure or development projects.

  • Prepare detailed designs for water supply, TSE/irrigation, wastewater, and stormwater networks in line with Oman authority regulations.
  • Develop hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, network modeling, and design layouts using relevant engineering software.
  • Prepare drawings, design reports, BOQs, technical notes, and specifications for tender and construction phases.
  • Coordinate with civil, structural, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of wet utility systems.
  • Review topographical surveys, hydrological studies, and geotechnical data to inform design decisions.
  • Conduct wet utility network modeling (e.g., EPANET, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, StormCAD or equivalent).
  • Liaise with Oman authorities (e.g., PAEW/MADAYN/Municipality) for design submissions, approvals, and technical clarifications.
  • Perform site visits to gather design inputs and verify existing utility conditions.
  • Support senior engineers in value engineering, design validation, and optimization efforts.
  • Respond to technical queries from contractors, clients, and project stakeholders during construction or permitting stages.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in wet utilities design, preferably within infrastructure or urban development projects.
  • Strong understanding of Oman authority standards for water supply, sewerage, stormwater, and irrigation systems.
  • Proficiency in design and modeling tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, StormCAD, EPANET, or similar.
  • Good understanding of hydraulic principles, pipe material specifications, manhole design, and pumping system basics.
  • Experience preparing design documentation, reports, and BOQs.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.
  • GCC experience and a valid driving license are advantageous.
  • Professional memberships or relevant certifications are a plus.
