Engineer – Water | Hamilton

Join our Hamilton Water team and contribute to practical, future-focused solutions across water, wastewater and stormwater projects.

This role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality technical work for a variety of clients while collaborating with engineers locally and across New Zealand.

This is an especially exciting time to join our Hamilton team, with new established CCO's & a pipeline of exciting work ahead. You’ll support projects from planning and feasibility through to design and delivery. The work includes developing pipeline and other three waters designs, calculations, reports, specifications, schedules, estimates, drawings and contract documentation, with a strong focus on quality, safety, risk management and sustainable outcomes.

Alongside technical delivery, there is scope to grow your project and design management experience. You may lead tasks and smaller projects, contribute to bids and proposals, build trusted client relationships and help identify opportunities for new and innovative water engineering services.

This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving problems, communicating clearly and working as part of a collaborative team to achieve strong outcomes for clients and communities.

About you:

• A Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent qualification, with at least three years’ experience in water and/or civil engineering.
• CPEng or an equivalent professional registration would be welcomed, including candidates who are actively working towards registration.
• Experience contributing to three waters engineering projects, with the ability to produce clear, accurate technical deliverables and apply relevant standards, legislation and codes of practice.
• A practical approach to project risk, scope, budget, quality and programme, combined with sound judgement and confident problem-solving skills.
• Strong organisation and self-management skills, with the flexibility to prioritise changing workloads and see responsibilities through to completion.
• A collaborative, future-focused mindset, an interest in innovative and sustainable outcomes, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
• A current, clean driver licence and flexibility to travel when required.
