Job Description

About The Role

We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Engineer, Technical Sales - After Sales Service to drive service sales growth for our analytical instrumentation business. The role focuses on promoting and selling service solutions, including preventive maintenance contracts, service agreements, spare parts, consumables, and repair services to existing and new customers.The ideal candidate combines technical knowledge with strong sales and communication skills, capable of developing long-term customer relationships while delivering sustainable service revenue growth.

What You Will Deliver

Key Responsibilities

Service Sales Development

  • Promote and sell after-sales service offerings, including:
    • Preventive Maintenance (PM) packages
    • Service Contracts / Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
    • Spare Parts
    • Consumables
    • Repair and Calibration Services
  • Identify new business opportunities within the installed instrument base.
  • Develop and execute territory sales plans to achieve service revenue targets.
  • Generate quotations, proposals, and tender documentation for service-related opportunities.
  • Conduct contract renewal activities and follow up on expiring service agreements.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with laboratory managers, QA/QC teams, R&D personnel, procurement teams, and key decision-makers.
  • Understand customer operational needs and recommend appropriate service solutions.
  • Conduct regular customer visits to strengthen engagement and identify additional sales opportunities.
  • Handle customer inquiries and coordinate with service teams to ensure customer satisfaction.

Sales Pipeline & CRM Management

  • Utilize Salesforce CRM to manage opportunities, quotations, sales activities, and customer information.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reports.
  • Track contract renewal schedules and proactively manage opportunity development.

Collaboration & Technical Support

  • Work closely with Service Engineers, Product Specialists, and the Manufacturer's Service Organization to develop customer solutions.
  • Coordinate with principals/manufacturers regarding service programs, technical recommendations, and commercial opportunities.
  • Support marketing campaigns, customer seminars, and promotional activities related to service offerings.

Reporting

  • Prepare regular sales activity reports, forecasts, and performance updates.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities.

What You Bring

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in:
    • Engineering
    • Analytical Chemistry
    • Instrumentation
    • Biotechnology
    • Chemical Engineering
    • Related technical disciplines

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in technical sales, service sales, or customer support within analytical instrumentation, laboratory equipment, or industrial technology sectors.
  • Experience selling service contracts, maintenance agreements, spare parts, or consumables is highly preferred.
  • Experience working with multinational manufacturers/principals is an advantage.

Technical Competencies

  • Basic understanding of analytical instrumentation brands such as:
    • Malvern Panalytical
    • TA Instruments
    • Agilent technologies
    • Buchi
    • Binder
    • Laboratory automation systems
  • Ability to understand technical service offerings and translate them into customer value propositions.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.

Language Skills

  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with overseas manufacturers and regional support teams on a regular basis.

Sales & Soft Skills

  • Strong customer-facing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and persuasion abilities.
  • Ability to engage with customers at different organizational levels, from end-users to management and procurement teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with the ability to work independently.

Other Requirements

  • Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory (Hue and Northern Vietnam).
  • Valid driving license is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
