Engineer- Technical presales
The Engineer - Technical presales is responsible for driving business growth by identifying opportunities, developing technical solutions, and supporting the sales process for utility, industrial and EPC projects. The role combines technical expertise with commercial acumen to deliver value-driven solutions to clients while ensuring alignment with project requirements, standards, and company objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Forecast, research and develop new business opportunities within electric utilities, industrial and EPC sectors.
- Prepare and submit technical and commercial proposals for tenders and client requirements.
- Review specifications, drawings and project requirements to develop optimized solutions.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement and project teams to ensure accurate costing and feasibility.
- Engage with clients, consultants and stakeholders to understand project needs and provide technical support.
- Conduct product presentations, technical clarifications and negotiations with clients.
- Support bid management, including documentation, compliance and submission processes.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer requirements.
- Assist in contract negotiations and order finalization.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and ensure customer satisfaction.
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Electrical / Electronics Engineering.
- 2–3 years of experience in handling electric utility, industrial or EPC client segments.
- Exposure to tendering, proposals and technical sales will be an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Good knowledge of utility sector standards and practices.
- Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Commercial awareness with a problem-solving mindset.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic costing / estimation tools.
