Job Description

The VIRGINIA Class Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) Sacrificial Anode Engineering group has an opening for a highly motivated engineer. Candidates must be able to lead small groups, work independently and be willing to interact with other engineering disciplines, vendors, NAVSEA, and the design community. Candidate should have knowledge of Systems Engineering, and Electronics and System Software design. Strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Lead coordination efforts between system engineering, configuration management, system administrator, software developers, quality assurance, and software test as applicable.
  • Lead coordination efforts between multi-system engineering groups, arrangement design, and product/system testing as applicable.
  • Responsible for cost and schedule performance of assigned tasks.
  • Responsible for managing multiple projects and/or assigned tasks.
  • Responsible for developing and presenting system information as the design progresses.
  • System calculations, concepts, arrangement validation, component development, and operational testing.
  • Contribute to developing new technologies or capabilities into responsible systems.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Chemical engineering
  • 0-5 years of post-graduate engineering experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance through the Department of Defense

Preferred:

  • Background in military or marine applications
  • Knowledge of cathodic protection systems and/or electromagnetics
  • Experience with any of the following preferred: DC power supply design, cathodic protection theory, electric field theory, software development, electronics design, active and passive cathodic protection design.
