As the Engineer - Systems, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s IT infrastructure. You will ensure the seamless integration and optimal performance of various systems including servers, networks, and cloud services. You will be responsible for managing and supporting Microsoft Team Room technology to facilitate efficient communication and collaboration within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure including servers, networks, and cloud services.
  • Support and system management of WAN, LAN, and Core networks.
  • Manage and support Microsoft Team Room technology to enhance team collaboration and communication.
  • Coordinate with other teams, Inside and outside of IT, including, but not limited to field support, data center site operations and project managers.
  • Collaborate with Vendors on selection of hardware.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for complex network and application issues when escalated.
  • Provide effective technical documentation to clearly communicate procedures to other IT personnel.
  • Ensure system security and compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Participate in on-call rotation as well as other after-hours support and maintenance activities as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree - Information Systems, Computer Science or related field required; Masters Degree preferred
  • Technical certifications including CCNA preferred
  • 5+ years of experience as Network Infrastructure / IT Systems Engineer or similar relevant field preferred
  • Strong knowledge of VMware and related virtualization technologies (vCenter, Hyper-V, etc.)
  • Understanding of cloud solutions and associated technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
  • Knowledge of designing and building fully automated DevOps CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong understanding of PowerShell scripting
  • Knowledge of Veeam Backup & Replication / Backup Technologies
  • Experience writing scripts to automate mundane tasks
  • Strong understanding of Windows
  • A working understanding of VSAN, VxRail, and SAN Storage Technologies
  • Experience designing, configuring, and deploying applications in Microsoft Azure
  • Understanding of complex applications, micro-services, and serverless use cases
  • Must have the ability to follow established Change Control procedures to prevent unexpected interruptions to the production environment
  • Possess exceptional customer service skills
  • Possess both written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and self-manage tasks


This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position; however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or any collective bargaining agreements.

For eligible positions, compensation may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plan documents. For certain sales roles, Wesco also offers a commission structure that provides additional compensation based on sales results, as defined by the applicable commission plan.
