Engineer - Structures

We’re looking for a motivated Engineer – Structures to join our Christchurch team. This is an exciting opportunity to build your technical capability while contributing to a diverse pipeline of projects across the Property & Buildings sector.

In this role, you’ll work closely with experienced engineers and project teams to deliver high-quality structural solutions that support our clients and communities.

You’ll play a key part in supporting the delivery of structural engineering projects, including:

  • Assisting with the design, investigation and documentation of structural solutions across a range of projects
  • Supporting project delivery through planning, coordination and reporting activities
  • Preparing fee proposals, design briefs and project documentation
  • Contributing to project management activities including programme tracking, budgeting and quality assurance
  • Undertaking site observations and supporting construction phase activities
  • Collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated client solutions
  • Building strong client relationships and contributing to business development opportunities
  • Continuously developing your technical expertise, including seismic design and relevant NZ standards

About you

You’ll be a developing structural engineer who is eager to learn, contribute and grow your career. You will bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in Structural or Civil Engineering (Washington Accord or equivalent)
  • Around 3+ years’ relevant professional experience
  • A solid grounding in structural design principles and engineering fundamentals
  • Exposure to seismic engineering and an understanding of New Zealand design standards
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and willingness to take ownership of your work
  • A clean, current driver’s licence
