The Engineer, Solutions Architecture role is primarily focused on providing direct technical assistance to the Sales Team with pre-sales opportunities for new & existing clients and providing support for partners in our ecosystem. This individual will help identify, qualify, and close businesses in the region. They are business-oriented, network, security, cloud, product and application experts for IT Solutions’ suite of solutions. Solution Architects apply this product and domain expertise to support all technical pre-sales activities, including but not limited to evaluating client needs and applying solutions to resolve or improve outcomes, diagnosing client concerns, delivering presentations and demonstrations, responding to client technical issues and questions, contributing to RFI/RFP responses, and in general working with the sales team to identify and close targeted opportunities.

The Engineer, Solutions Architecture is also involved in limited post-sales activities such as delivering Internal training, coordinating delivery and support within the Managed Services and Client Strategy group, and/or participating in Professional Services work. In addition, the Solutions Engineer is a key source of market research who identifies and documents future product, service and application requirements and roadmaps.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

Pre-Sales Delivery

  • Provide expertise in opportunity assessment, opportunity development and proposal development based on prospective clients’ business needs and align them with IT Solutions’ differentiators
  • Build conceptual architecture and develop solution options in alignment with IT Solutions offerings that match prospects’ requirements
  • Assist sales with proposal development and delivery
  • Build relationships with opportunity channel partners to enable collaboration
  • Present the technical capabilities and business value of all IT Solutions’ products and services
  • Participate in technical discussions with prospects
  • Deliver strategic product and service presentations
  • Provide post-sales assistance as required to upsell IT Solutions’ capabilities or help remediate client issues
  • Assist marketing with review of new content and collateral for technical accuracy

Solution Development

  • Play a key part in delivering ideation, technology strategy, planning, business case, and prototyping engagements, and supporting business and technology teams to drive the implementation of your recommendations
  • Partner with Business Development & Marketing to build and execute selling strategies
  • Act as a key contributor in the process of build strategy, assessment, vision & roadmap, and business case deliverables, as well as deliver workshops and presentations
  • Maintain innovation roadmap for IT Solutions’ client offerings

  • Demonstrated experience working with large and complex clients
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable in the context of a dynamic and growing business

Experience

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalence of professional work
  • IT Director background would be ideal but not required
  • 7+ years in related role in a client-facing technical sales/consulting role
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in developing consultative relationships with business decision- makers by reinforcing the business value of solutions
