About the role:
This role is based in Taipei and collaborates closely with QA and Engineering teams in Warsaw, Poland. You will work on Smart TV and Set‑ Top Box platforms used by global OEM partners, validating real devices and embedded systems in production‑ grade environments.
As a Software QA Engineer, you will focus on hands‑ on testing and support of hardware validation, working in collaboration with distributed teams across Europe (Poland, Sweden, Romania), America and APAC, and interacting with OEM and ODM partners.
What you will get to do:
Support firmware validation before Mainboard Mass Production (MB MP), contributing to production readiness of Smart TV devices
Perform first‑ level verification of functional issues raised by APAC partners and clarify reproduction steps
Support OEMs and ODMs in day‑ to‑ day functional and integration topics
Participate in hardware testing, including work with prototypes and configuration setup
Execute test scenarios for new features, platform updates and OEM‑ specific solutions
Identify, report and track defects and support their resolution
Participate in release validation activities, including build verification and sanity testing
Support preparation of test documentation and reports
Review test results and support analysis of automation outputs
Collaborate with QA, development and product teams across regions
Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes
Who we are looking for:
Main requirements for the role:
Minimum 2–4 years of experience in Software Testing
Understanding of QA processes and testing methodologies
Experience with embedded systems (Smart TV, STB or similar)
Interest or initial experience in working close to hardware and device testing
Experience with test case creation, execution and defect tracking
Knowledge of tools: JIRA / Confluence / Xray
Proactive attitude and willingness to learn
High level of English – very good spoken and written communication (B2/C1)
Nice to have:
Understanding of digital TV standards (e.g. DVB, QAM‑ B or similar)
Basic knowledge of streaming technologies (HLS, DASH, DRM)
Experience working with OEMs / ODMs
Familiarity with test automation tools
ISTQB certification
Knowledge of UNIX based systems
Basic programming skills (Python)
Exposure to AI‑ assisted testing concepts
