Job Description

The position requires application responsibility of automotive gasoline/ diesel turbochargers including customer interface to gather technical requirements, select the right product from BW product line for each application, coordinate internal activities of matching, prototyping, validation and release, etc., and solving the engineering issues during the product application development stage.

Principal Accountabilities / Responsibilities

  • Interface with customers in Japan for applications of BW turbocharger products.
  • Define thermodynamics specification and technical dimensions of the turbocharger based on customer requirements and data.
  • Create D-FMEA based on the requirements form the customer.
  • Make DVP&R and coordinate the support from other functional areas (validation and release, quality, manufacturing) to carry it out.
  • Provide technical support to engineering issues from both suppliers and customers based on the systematic problem-solving skills.

  • This position will adhere to safety rules, practices and training as outlined in the BorgWarner Safety Policy Manual, which includes the use of equipment, protective devices, or clothing that the employer requires. This individual will work in manners that stress the importance of preventing accidents and illnesses. He/she must take every precaution reasonable in the given circumstance for the protection of themselves and coworkers. In addition, he/she is responsible for reporting all injuries and/or possible dangerous situations, incidents, or occurrences to the immediate supervisor.
  • Meet EHS responsibilities requirement.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above in turbocharging, internal combustion engine, fluid kinetics, or mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in automotive turbocharger, engine technology development or application.
  • Good organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in procedures and workflow cycles of automotive industry is desired.
  • Knowledge of the current quality specifications (IATF16949)
  • Proficient with MS Office and SAP R/3.
  • Professional verbal and written English & essential Japanese language communication skills.
