Our 2000 local experts, backed by our global experience and network of partners, are working to solve the world’s toughest challenges in government, intelligence, defence, aviation, border protection and health markets.

Your New Role and Responsibilities

LAND 156 is a flagship Australian Defence initiative delivering a cutting-edge Counter-Small Uncrewed Aerial Systems (CsUAS) capability. This program will protect ADF personnel and assets from evolving drone threats through a layered system of sensors, effectors, and command-and-control technologies.

We seek an Engineer to focus on the design, integration, and support of RF and radar subsystems within deployable physical system nodes, incorporating sensors, communications, power, and computing as part of a broader Command & Control (C2) system architecture. You will work closely with systems, software, and integration engineers to deliver ruggedised, deployable hardware solutions for Defence clients.

You will report directly to the Engineering Design Lead and play a hands‑on role across the full engineering lifecycle, from requirements definition through to integration, test, and verification.

The position will:

  • Design, analyse, and integrate RF and radar subsystems, including transmitters, receivers, antennas, and associated signal chains.
  • RF system architecture development including frequency planning, link budgets, and performance modelling.
  • Select, place and integrate antennas, considering platform constraints and electromagnetic performance.
  • Support to EMC/EMI analysis, spectrum management, and environmental compliance activities.
  • Integrate RF and radar sensors with processing, communications, and C2 systems.
  • Support radar and RF testing activities, including laboratory testing, field trials, and acceptance testing.

What You’ll Bring to Make an Impact

  • Degree in Electrical, Electronics, RF Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design, integration, or support of RF and/or radar systems
  • within Defence, aerospace, telecommunications, or complex systems environments.
  • Experience contributing to requirements decomposition, interface definition, and working with systems, software, and integration engineers across the engineering lifecycle.
  • Ability to support integration, test, and verification activities and produce engineering documentation aligned with Defence or regulated industry standards.

Don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes – if you meet most of them, we encourage you to submit your application. We’re most interested in your strengths, what you want to learn and how far you want to go.
