New process development related fixture/tooling design. New product optics-mechanical parts design. And support NPI production fixture/tooling design. Mechanical interference simulation. MFG output.

Support product and process design engineers on all projects in development to generate revenue and growth for Business Unit.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. With guidance from product design engineer, develop new product optics-mechanical parts.
2. With guidance from process develop engineer, design the new fixture and tooling to meet new process requirement. Do simulation to check if there’s any interference.
3. MFG output based on product design team’s requirement.
4. Work with product design engineer, process develop engineer and manufacturing engineer to design fixture and tooling for NPI production.
5. Support R&D testing engineer to develop lab testing station required testing fixture and tooling.
6. Lead all the above mechanical design validation and improvement with other team member engineers supporting.
7. Communicate with supplier on their manufacturing capability for critical parts and work with sourcing closely to review the DMF strictly to minimize the defect possibility.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in engineering in Mechanical Engineering

WORK EXPERIENCE:

REQUIRED: 3+ years mechanical design experience.

PREFERRED: Design experience of optics-mechanical products such as Optical Transceiver and components.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

REQUIRED:

1. Good at SolidWorks / Auto CAD / Pro/E software and Agile /SVN system.
2. Proficient in solid modelling experience to generate 3D models & 2-D drawings.
3. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability (DFM).
4. Experience in tolerance analysis and mechanical interference evaluation.
5. Familiarity with material selection and mechanical component design.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Good verbal and written communication skills.
8. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
9. Strong attention to detail and commitment to engineering excellence.

PREFERRED:

• Familiarity with manufacturing processes.
• Good knowledge of common material properties.
