Job Description

Main Tasks:
Product development and Innovation:
- Work closely with/under line manager to develop new product portfolio with defined Phase gate or Topic projects.
- Run projects professionally according to BASF Innovation management requirement & process, Controls and evaluates and documents progress, milestone achievement.
- Actively participated in a new product trial runs at both pilot plant and production plant. Support customer trials as and when needed.
- Ensure smooth and efficient workflow of lab requests through compounding, injection molding, and testing stages.
- Organize and keep track of the availability of raw materials for trial runs. Maintain inventory and identify reorder levels as necessary.
- Close collaboration with compounding & Industrialization team on solving processing challenges on new product developments.
- Work closely with material testing team on newly developed product evaluations and testing, supporting new testing methods development if necessary.

Other collaborations and Knowhow management:
- Close collaboration with all other regional EP R&D team colleagues as one team to work on the regional R&D projects and product development activities.
- Coordinate with all other function teams including product management, operations and sales & marketing to support and deliver solutions according to the customer needs.
- Prepare reports, presentations and documents needed for timely updates of responsible project activities.
- Ensure that the documentation of own R&D activity is routinely done and upload into the required database
- Participate in communication meetings with other regions on the projects and exchange of ideas.
- Attend organized customer visits, seminars and conferences, as necessary. Support sales & marketing, TD/AD, and TPM as needed on technical topics.

EHS:
- Ensure the occupational, health and environment safety practices during the day-to-day operation in compliance with BASF EHS and local country regulations.
- Direct responsibility for the safety of new chemicals/raw materials brought to the lab.

Main Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 2-3 years' experience in R&D in Engineering Plastics industry.
- Good technical knowledge on EP formulation, processing and raw materials.
- Good understanding of EP applications in targeted industry segments.
- Good communication skills in both Chinese and English.
- Basic project Management skill.
