With our unique blend of products – including 3D woven structures, traditional and non-traditional 2D composite structures, and discrete through thickness reinforcement technologies, to name a few – AEC is able to produce composite components and products which meet performance and cost specifications often beyond the reach of metallic or conventional laminated composites.
Job Purpose:
The Quality Assurance Engineer develops and implements quality standards for manufacturing processes, including designing inspection methods and performing statistical analyses to ensure product reliability. This role also leads FMEA activities, manages the MRB process for product disposition, and conducts audits to maintain compliance and drive continuous improvement.

· Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards for manufacturing processes.
· Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating production components and assemblies.
· Design and/or specify inspection and test methods and equipment.
· Develop and implement quality assurance test and perform statistical analysis for development & production programs.
· Lead Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) activities enabling improvements in process control and capability.
· Initiate and sustain MRB (Material Review Board) process in support of appropriate product disposition.
· Perform internal and external audits

Qualifications
Qualifications:
Knowledge:
· BS Engineering (BS ME, IE or Chem Eng preferred) *
· 3-5 years’ experience in quality/manufacturing industry using MRP/ERP (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
· 2-3 years’ experience in Supplier Quality Management preferred
· Experience in ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Assurance Systems
· *7-10 years’ experience in engineering function can substitute for BS degree
Skills:
· Definition of fundamental product/process design and control plans
· Measurement and test methods supporting GD&T, metrology techniques
· Statistical analysis (JMP, Minitab) skills with strong attention to detail
· Quality system, process and product auditing
· Supplier Quality Management experience given preference
· MSOffice proficient (Excel, PowerPoint and Visio skills required)
· ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) given preference.
Abilities
· Proven problem-solving skills in a teamwork setting.
· Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written.
· Ability to read and understand blueprints/drawings, CAD experiences a plus.
· Lean, Six Sigma, or Process Excellence certification experience preferred.
Working Conditions:
Indoor production environment, duties performed indoors, adequate lighting and comfortable temperatures. Occasional exposure to moderate noise and machinery with mechanical moving parts. Ability to work 24/7 schedule and be available as business situations required, Travel may be required
Physical Requirements:
Occasionally positions self to move an office item >10 lbs.
Frequently move about the production floor and office area to attend meetings or trainings
Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time
Frequently operates a computer, enters data into systems, verifies information, etc…
