Civmec is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join the BHP Bucket Wheel Reclaimer 7 (BWR7) Upgrade Project in Port Hedland.

This critical upgrade forms part of BHP's Project and will increase BWR7 capacity to 14,500tph while extending the machine's operational life through to 2044. The project includes significant electrical infrastructure upgrades, including HV/LV cabling, switchroom upgrades, software upgrades and functional safety improvements.

The Role

  • Manage electrical engineering and construction activities across the BWR7 upgrade works.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and key project stakeholders.
  • Support the delivery of HV/LV cabling, switchroom, control system and associated electrical infrastructure works.
  • Drive project performance across safety, quality, schedule and cost.Assist with planning, procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
  • Provide technical support to site teams and resolve engineering issues.
  • Monitor project progress and contribute to successful project outcomes.

About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a Project Engineer or similar role.
  • Experience delivering electrical projects within mining, resources, industrial or infrastructure environments.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project controls and stakeholder management.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive commitment to safety and project delivery
  • Ideally previous BHP experience
