This role is focused on platform engineering and DevOps enablement for the Lean Non-Prod platform, with a strong emphasis on CI/CD pipeline creation, maintenance, and standardization. The candidate should be comfortable working hands-on with GitLab pipelines and related CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins and ArgoCD.

The person in this role will help build and maintain “golden pipeline” patterns that engineering teams can reuse across different technology stacks. Current and expected pipeline types include Terraform IaC, Maven, Node, ArgoCD, and Liquibase. A near-term focus is getting a reliable Liquibase pipeline operational, including support for Oracle and PostgreSQL database deployment patterns.

Key responsibilities and expectations:

  • The candidate should have practical experience designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, especially in GitLab CI. Jenkins and ArgoCD experience are also important. They should understand how to build reusable, governed pipeline templates rather than one-off scripts.
  • They should be comfortable working in AWS environments, especially with EKS and Kubernetes-based workloads. We also expect future work to help set up or support the EKS environment in production.
  • Infrastructure as Code experience is important, especially Terraform. The candidate should understand how IaC fits into enterprise DevOps, environment promotion, approvals, and governance.
  • Security awareness is critical. Regardless of where pipelines or platform components are deployed, the candidate must understand that enterprise controls still apply, including firewall rules, dedicated ERSA/IAM roles, least-privilege access, and management of highly privileged automation paths.
  • Liquibase experience would be a strong plus, particularly using Liquibase in CI/CD workflows for Oracle and PostgreSQL. This is one of the more immediate needs.
  • Kubernetes, runners, and pipeline execution experience are also valuable. The candidate should ideally understand GitLab runner configuration, troubleshooting, scaling, and secure execution patterns.
  • The role requires collaboration with development, QA, security, operations, and platform teams. The person should be able to work through dependencies, clarify requirements, troubleshoot pipeline failures, and document reusable patterns.

Preferred candidate profile:

  • A strong candidate will have 3–5 years of platform engineering, DevOps, or SRE experience with hands-on CI/CD delivery. They should be comfortable with GitLab CI, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Terraform, Kubernetes/EKS, scripting with Bash or Python, and cloud infrastructure in AWS. Experience with Liquibase, Oracle, PostgreSQL, reusable pipeline frameworks, and enterprise security controls would make them especially relevant.
