Note: This role is based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia

Qualifications:

  • Diploma / Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Studies, Information Technology or related discipline

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in various routing protocols and networking technology
  • Good working knowledge of TCP/IP, Internet Routing & Switching Protocols (such as MPLS, BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, HSRP, STP, RTP), and DNS, DHCP, VPN, PPPOE, SNMP

Experience:

  • Candidate with Network Operations Center (NOC) experience, CISCO CCNA certification preferred
  • Python and/or other scripting languages are added advantage
  • Fresh graduates with positive attitude and good communication and analytical skills are welcome to apply too

Interpersonal:

  • Able to perform rotating shifts
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills to ensure quick problem resolution
  • Strong communication skills and able to converse effectively with people of all levels
  • Strong team player with initiative and ability to work in a fast-paced and time constraint environment

The primary focus of the role is to support the 24 by 7 surveillance function of StarHub’s services, network infrastructure and devices, to provide round-the-clock fault management & technical support to meet the Service Level Agreement (SLA).

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform shifts in Network Operation Centre (24 by 7) to provide StarHub’s network surveillance and fault management support for various network elements and related services
  • Provide adequate and proactive monitoring to our network and services
  • Provide effective and timely problem management including problem identification, tracking, isolation, troubleshooting, notification, escalation and resolution.
  • Coordinate network changes, maintenance and enhancements to maintain the highest standard of availability and reliability possible to the network
  • Liaise with key stakeholders across local & international segments to manage and resolve connectivity issues
