MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To design, implement, secure, optimise and support Mediclinic’s enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring the availability, performance, resilience and security of clinical, corporate and medical-device connectivity services. The role supports strategic initiatives including Huawei network modernisation, Electronic Health Record readiness and deployment, Zero Trust Network Access, secure medical-device integration, cybersecurity improvement programmes and hybrid-cloud connectivity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

  • Design, implement and optimise enterprise network services
  • Manage network security, Zero Trust Network Access and cyber resilience
  • Support healthcare technology, EHR and secure medical-device connectivity
  • Drive operational excellence, automation and continuous improvement
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and service delivery

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION:

  • Matric.
  • A recognised enterprise networking certification at professional level, such as Cisco CCNP, Huawei HCIP or an equivalent professional networking qualification

DESIRED EDUCATION:

  • A relevant diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Relevant vendor or security certification.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM:

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in an enterprise network environment.
  • Practical experience supporting large-scale LAN, WAN, WLAN and data-centre network services.
  • Experience with enterprise routing, switching, network security, firewall technologies, operational support and formal change-control processes.
  • Experience supporting high-availability and business-critical technology environments.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with Huawei enterprise campus networking technologies and multi-vendor network environments.
  • Experience with Zero Trust Network Access, network segmentation and secure remote-access solutions.
  • Exposure to cloud and hybrid network connectivity.
  • Experience supporting healthcare technology, clinical systems, EHR platforms or secure medical-device connectivity.
  • Exposure to network automation, orchestration, telemetry and analytics
