Job Description

What you’ll do:

Primary responsibility of this role is Sustaining Engineering (SE) of GEIS products that will help in sustenance of the products present in the international markets. This position responsibilities entails the identification and execution of production plant issues and ensuring to address the concerns related to plant, quality, SCM and customer concerns for Crouse and Bline portfolio products.
It also requires to have strong communication skills, drive, strong engineering acumen with enthusiasm in the product design understanding on the existing products. Ensure to have understanding of product compliance to global design standards like UL,NEMA or any other compliance standard.
Has some understanding about the Hazardous Locations standard requirement. Complete system / component sizing, designing , simulation and testing activities to meet power distribution and controls panel requirements and Cable glands products. Modify existing products to support customer, manufacturing, applicable regulatory and industry standard, and market requirement through Change Management process.

• Work in multiple programs/projects related to SE to achieve the business goals and Profit Plan objectives.
• Own end to end projects and deliverables including product conceptualization, detailing, design validation & testing of products.
• Performing RCA's for the issues from Plant and customers to ensure the robust design on the product
• Have understanding about Continuous improvement process and demonstrated in any process automations while executing the project
• Having a good understanding in the Power distribution and Control panels products, fittings.
• Has a good experience related to plastic and casting product design experience and demonstrated on the projects
• Work in a cross functional/ multi-disciplinary team in making technology/ engineering decisions required for project execution.
• Designs, validates and releases system, sub-system and components independently as well as through team of engineers. Creates CAD drawings- detailing, 3D models, Assemblies etc. and ensure release in PLM / ERP system per project plan.
• Contribute to create test plans in accordance with IEC/UL standards. Create test object requirements, plan for assembly and finalize test parameters & instrumentation. Responsible for conducting tests by ensuring deployment of standard practices.
• Contribute with leads to Create Intellectual Property documents (IPs) around new product design concepts / ideas.

Qualifications:

  • BE
  • 4-7 yrs. Product Design

Skills:

1. Sound technical knowledge and experience in design and development of Mechanical products like sheet metal products (preferred), cast/machined products, plastic products and relevant product standards such as UL, IEC, etc.
2. Strong hands on experience in creating part detailing and designing, drawing creation, 3D modeling of parts/assemblies and 2D dimensioning and tolerance of parts, prototyping and validation
3.Analytical skills must include design/ selection, stresses, fatigue life, component fits and establishing efficient/ergonomic methods of assembly, Design calculations.
4. Good understanding GD&T, DFMEA, DFMA.
5. Should have good knowledge on different product design tools environment like CAD, Solid works, SAP.
6.Understanding of Power distribution controls product would be an added advantage.
7. Fluent Communication skills, takes Ownership and Accountability, Contribution towards Innovation
