The Loss Prevention Site Engineer is responsible for implementing and monitoring loss prevention, safety, and risk management programs across all activities related to the construction, testing, and commissioning of 440 kV substations and associated transmission line infrastructure. The role ensures compliance with client requirements, statutory regulations, international standards, and company HSE policies to prevent injuries, property damage, environmental incidents, and operational disruptions.

Scope & Responsibilities:

  • Will be responsible for following up the works done by the contractor & controlling the
  • procedures of works to be complied with the tender specifications & general contract conditions.
  • Responsible for Erection, commissioning, testing, monitoring of implementation of the works as
  • per the procedure & method statements of the following systems:

i. Fire Detection & Alarm System

ii. Deluge Water Spray System

iii. Sprinkler system

iv. Water Mist System

v. Clean Agent (FM200) System

vi. Fire extinguisher system.

vii. Transformer Explosion Prevention System

viii. Fire Pumps & Controllers

ix. Passive Fire Protection.

x. Smoke extraction system.

xi. Lightning protection system.

xii. Emergency lighting system.

xiii. Security management system and the necessary interfaces of SMS with

regards to loss prevention system.

xiv. Interfaces between loss prevention, HVAC system, smoke system, security

management system and explosion prevention system.

xv. Interface of loss prevention system with substation control system & NCC

Will be responsible to ensure that the installation, testing & commission works are

carried out as per approved documents & drawings

g. Verification and approval of materials as per contract specifications and as per the

requirements.

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / electrical engineering / Fire Protection
  • Engineering from reputed university.
  • Should have worked for a minimum of 6 years in loss prevention engineering and
  • should have worked for major Transmission & water projects having required
  • knowledge and background of design, inspection, erection & commissioning of
  • Loss Prevention systems. In the above projects he should have carried out /
  • prepared preliminary studies, tender documents, contract procedures, and
  • technical specifications, bid evaluation.
  • Must be fully conversant / referred all relevant international NFPA Codes &
  • Standards.
  • Must be a registered member of NFPA, USA
