Job Description

Ø Purpose of Position

  • The job incumbent is responsible To develop and deliver Lab Testing services in the respective domain
  • The position performs in line with the Bureau Veritas Quality Assurance System, including the BV Code of Ethics and the BV Group policy

Ø Major Responsibilities

  • Engineer-Lab is responsible for assigning and carrying out tests as per the job priority given by Lab Manager and / or as per daily procedure
  • Preparation of test report for all samples tested in the department
  • Assistance in preparation and updating of technical procedures.
  • Responsibility of making available appropriate resources for lab operations.
  • Monitoring equipment maintenance, calibration and testing schedules.
  • Monitoring environmental conditions.
  • Maintenance of standard reference materials and records.
  • Review and update work instructions from time to time
  • Carry out internal calibration under guidance of Technical manager.
  • Preparation of Measurement of uncertainty document with the help of Technical Manager.
  • Maintain the documentation required as per NABL criteria.
  • Ensure implementation of QMS in the area of responsibility corporate standards (e.g. Code of Ethics, BV Values, corporate identity, policies, procedures)

Ø Criteria for Performance Evaluation (KPIs)

  • Accuracy and timely performance of tasks assigned
  • Compliance of internal and external guidelines, policies, procedures
  • To adhere Group HSE Guidelines.
  • Adherence to environmental and safety policies of our organization

Ø Qualification and Experience & Technical Knowledge

  • BE/B.Tech/ Diploma Graduate with min. 6-8 yrs of relevant industry experience

ØSkills & Qualities:

Proficiency in civil material testing methods (concrete, soil, steel, asphalt, aggregates) with hands‑on experience in operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, and strong knowledge of IS standards.

Ability to conduct precise tests, interpret data, and prepare reliable reports and certificates, ensuring compliance with project specifications and QA/QC requirements.

Skilled in identifying anomalies, troubleshooting equipment or test results, and maintaining ethical standards in documentation and reporting.

Strong record‑keeping, time management and ability to coordinate with engineers, contractors, and clients while clearly communicating technical findings.
