  • Apply modern engineering practices including automated testing, source control, code review, CI/CD, deployment automation, and other DevOps practices.
  • Own production outcomes. Monitor and support production applications and data processes, troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Modernize legacy capabilities by reducing technical debt and moving key functionality toward modern architectures.
  • Collaborate and innovate. Work with engineers, analysts, product owners, architects, and business partners to translate needs into reliable technical solutions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including technical designs, API specifications, data mappings, and operational documentation.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Strong database and SQL skills, including relational data structures, query development, data integrity, and performance considerations.
  • Experience developing Java applications using Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
  • Experience building, deploying, or supporting containerized applications.
  • Experience maintaining or modernizing legacy systems while preserving production reliability.
  • Understanding of APIs, integration patterns, event driven architecture, and message processing.
  • Experience with automated testing and disciplined software development lifecycle practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot across application, integration, database, and infrastructure layers.
  • Clear communication and a collaborative approach to working with technical and non-technical partners.
  • Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership and accountability for their work.
  • Curiosity and adaptability when working with unfamiliar systems, technologies, data, and business processes.
  • You promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.
  • Ability to work remotely with reliable high-speed internet access while residing in the United States or Puerto Rico.

PREFERRED:

  • Experience with AWS services and cloud-based solutions.
  • Experience with Kafka, MuleSoft, enterprise ETL, analytical data, or data warehouse solutions.
  • Understanding of data quality, reconciliation, lineage, monitoring, and downstream dependencies.
  • Experience supporting claims, insurance, financial services, or other highly regulated business processes.
  • Experience with production observability, logging, alerting, incident response, and root cause analysis.

This role is classified as remote; however, periodic in-person attendance will be required at times for activities such as quarterly or project planning, training, or other business-critical meetings.
