Job Description

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

An Engineer III will work primarily within research and development engineering groups with responsibility for a wide variety of tasks. The primary tasking will be a variety of testing tasks using radars. We are looking for engineers with entry to mid-level skill sets who work well in both theoretical and practical domains as part of an iterative process to create innovative solutions for a multitude of relevant domain challenges as partially described below:

  • Basic radar signal processing understanding (including phased array and ISAR processing
  • Basic understanding of all components of the radar range equation
  • Basic understanding of electromagnetic wave propagation and interaction
  • Write Code (Matlab, Python, etc.) to analyze and assess specific conditions in radar returns
  • Articulate, concise, detail-oriented, and rigorous

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Major or Minor in EE, Physics or Statistics is preferred

REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and four years of related engineering experience, or an accredited Master of Science in Engineering and a minimum of two years of related engineering experience, or an accredited doctorate degree in engineering are required for this position.

In addition, an Engineer III must possess the following qualifications:

  • Mastery of concepts, principles, and practices of engineering that enable the employee to serve as a technical authority on projects relating to the specific programs
  • Knowledge and skill sufficient to apply the latest developments in engineering to solve problems in the specialty area
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering tools
  • Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Planning/organizational skills and the ability to work under deadlines

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting with occasional use of computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness are required.

Travel to remote company work locations may be required.

JT4 provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and U.S. Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. Ranges supported by JT4 include the Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR), the National Space Test and Training Complex (NSTTC) at Schriever Air Force Base, the Utah Test and Training Range (UTTR), the Air Force Test Center 412th Test Wing (412TW) at Edwards Air Force Base, and the Navy China Lake Ranges (CLR) including Pt. Mugu, California.

JT4 is supported by several teammate companies on the J-Tech II Contract. Together we develop and maintain realistic integrated test and training environments. We prepare our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and air crews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
