Microchip’s fast-growing Microcontroller & Analog business is looking for a Reliability Engineer to bring new products to the market. Based in our Chandler, Arizona Corporate Headquarters, you would be part of the Reliability Engineering team tasked with supporting the development of new Microchip products. In addition, you will part of a team that is tasked with shaping and influencing our overall Reliability strategies and techniques. This position is an individual contributor role working in a team of experienced engineering staff who will mentor and support your technical growth.

  • Responsibilities include working with New Product Development teams to create and coordinate Qualification activities and plans to meet scheduled release dates.
  • New team member will learn how to develop and perform die level reliability testing on Microchip devices.
  • New team member will develop skills in qualification techniques for automotive, Commercial and Aero/Defense products.
  • Lab skills with assorted test/measurement equipment (e.g. oscilloscope, power supply, source meter, function generator, network analyzer, etc.) valued, but not required.
  • Experience in PCB hardware design and ability to read board schematics and drawings a plus.
  • Experience with LabVIEW, MATLAB and other SW programs a plus.
  • Operate effectively in a team environment while contributing to the team's success.
  • Self-motivated and one who takes the initiative to help others on the team.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must adhere to Microchips guiding values.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Job Requirements

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • BS or MS degree in Electrical/Computer or related engineering field with 0-3 years industry experience.
  • Good fundamentals of transistor level integrated circuits and device physics a plus.
  • Experience or ability to learn statistical methods and tools (ex: JMP or Mathcad).

Additional Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Lab skills with assorted test/measurement equipment, nice to have.
  • Experience with DLT/HTOL burn-in oven a plus but not required.
  • Self-motivated and take ownership of solutions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must adhere to Microchips guiding values.
  • Limited travel: 10% or less.
