Engineer II Civil and Structural

We are seeking a qualified, experienced candidate to support new project work with a primary focus on elements of civil and structural design. The Civil/ Structural Engineer is responsible for supporting the design and analysis of civil and structural engineering products. This individual will use their knowledge in structural engineering principles and practices to support development of innovative solutions for a wide range of projects, including support structures, concrete foundations, and enclosure design. The Civil / Structural Engineer will work closely with a team of engineers and technical staff to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with applicable codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering design and structural analysis for steel structures and concrete foundations
  • Prepare calculations, drawings, and reports under the guidance of senior engineers
  • Collect, review, interpret, and integrate design requirements from customers, suppliers, and the parent company
  • Prepare and review engineering technical requirements to support the overall project proposal and bid strategy
  • Review customer specifications and prepare technical clarifications and deviations
  • Prepare budgets, bids, technical requirements, and commercial requirements
  • Plan and review deliverable schedules, including project documentation and equipment
  • Work with suppliers to develop budgets and pricing estimates
  • Ensure arrangement and foundation interface information meets requirements
  • Interface with internal and external teams to ensure that design interface information for structural commodities is accurate and properly accounted for
  • Establish corrective actions to reduce nonconformances and improve quality
  • Carry out other responsibilities as assigned to meet evolving project and organizational needs

Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Civil Engineering with focus in Structural Engineering is required. A minimum of 2 years of work experience in a related engineering field. Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ASCE 7, AISC 360, and ACI 318 are desired.
  • Experience with Earthquake Engineering concepts and tools such as SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, and AutoCAD is desired.
  • Travel - 10%
