Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated ICT Engineer to join our team in Cardiff, NSW. The successful candidate will bring expertise in circuit design and repair of electronics used in rollingstock, including traction power modules together with software programming capabilities. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality engineering solutions across the systems engineering lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, troubleshoot, and repair electronic systems used in rollingstock, particularly traction power modules.
  • Program embedded devices to support the development of tools and systems that streamline and accelerate repair processes.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams to meet project delivery timelines.
  • Manage documentation and reporting throughout the systems engineering lifecycle.
  • Conduct detailed investigations and produce clear, concise reports for senior management.
  • Provide rapid and effective engineering support with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Lead technical meetings and maintain strong engagement with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Mentor and train junior and existing engineers.
  • Apply sound time management and self-motivation to meet project goals.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Australian and international standards (AS, ASA, MD, EN, RFC, IEEE), especially EN50155 and EN50128.
  • Read and interpret electronic/electrical schematics and logic diagrams.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, ICT Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in rollingstock electronics, particularly traction power systems.
  • Strong experience in embedded systems programming and tool development.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering principles and lifecycle documentation.
  • Experience with relevant standards and regulatory frameworks.
