Microchip Technology is looking for a motivated New College Graduate (NCG) Test Engineer to join the APID Sustaining and Enhancement Test Engineering team at our Philippine site.
This is an entry-level hands-on engineering role designed for fresh graduates who are eager to build a career in semiconductor test engineering.
The NCG Test Engineer will be closely guided and assisted by senior test engineers and the team manager as they learn the fundamentals of ATE platform operation, test program maintenance, and production sustaining. Over time, the candidate is expected to grow into independently executing sustaining tasks and contributing to enhancement projects.

Key Responsibilities


• Assist in day-to-day sustaining activities including test program maintenance, debug, and basic optimization
• Support investigation of production test failures and yield excursions on the tester floor under senior guidance
• Implement and verify minor engineering changes (ECOs) to test programs as directed
• Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) sessions and corrective action activities alongside senior engineers
• Learn to operate one or more ATE platforms used under supervision.
• Assist senior engineers in enhancement projects targeting yield improvement, test coverage, and test time reduction
• Participate in test correlation and qualification activities as a supporting contributor
• Attend and observe cross-functional meetings with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, FA, REL, and Application teams
• Support product sustaining and transfer activities as assigned by the team manager or senior engineers
• Report progress and escalate issues promptly to the senior engineer or team manager

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field

    • Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 1 year of experience are welcome to apply
  • Exposure to Automated Test Equipment (ATE) platforms through academic projects or internships is an advantage

    • Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided
  • Basic understanding of:

    • Electronics and circuit analysis
    • Digital and analog fundamentals
  • Familiarity with:

    • C/C++ programming
    • Any scripting or programming language
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills

  • Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and work hands-on in a tester floor environment.
