We are currently seeking an Engineer I, II, III for our Owensboro, KY office.

Provide oversight and direction for the design, estimation, planning, and execution of complex natural gas and liquid pipeline projects. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and reliably while aligning with corporate objectives, regulatory requirements, and customer commitments. The position requires strategic decision-making capability, innovation, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams in solving complex operational and capital challenges.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide strategic direction in evaluating operational challenges, conducting root cause analyses, developing alternatives, and recommending solutions to complex and novel pipeline and facility issues.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to conceptualize, prioritize, and estimate maintenance capital, maintenance expense, and reimbursable projects in alignment with long-range business objectives.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive, multi-year project portfolio database encompassing current-year and future-year planned initiatives to support strategic planning and capital forecasting.
• Monitor project performance and key milestones throughout the year to ensure alignment with approved execution plans, budgets, and schedules, proactively addressing risks and variances.
• Identify and champion opportunities to bundle or optimize projects across current and future years to maximize cost efficiency, improve resource utilization, and minimize customer and system impacts.
• Establish project execution strategies, approve specifications and scopes of work, oversee procurement activities, and negotiate contracts to ensure cost control and quality outcomes.
• Provide governance and oversight of third-party engineering and construction contractors, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and performance standards.
• Lead interdisciplinary teams by providing technical guidance, strategic direction, and mentorship to ensure successful project delivery.
• Serve as a key interface with internal and external customers, ensuring requirements are clearly defined and met in the most effective and cost-efficient manner.

• Deliver subject matter expertise to support operations and construction personnel through advanced technical analysis, research, and leadership-level guidance.
REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience related to Pipeline Engineering
• Experience in developing scopes of work and cost estimates
• Strong analytical thinker with a high level of problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and exhibits open collaboration with others to seek out solutions.
• Ability to interpret and comply with applicable natural gas industry codes, standards and regulations including DOT Pipeline Code 49 CFR 191, 192, 193, ASME B31.3, B31.8. and FERC Regulations found in 18 CRF 1
• Strong computer skills including MS Office applications
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities and assignments
• Ability to work with limited supervision
Ability to travel as required to support projects and attend meetings

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Strong presentation skills: ability to present and explain work product.
• Experience with project schedules.
• Field experience in construction related functions.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering
