Job Description

Vertiv is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled BIM Coordinator to join our busbar engineered-to-order (ETO) team at our Ras Al Khaimah, UAE location. The BIM Coordinator will report to the Design Manager and will work on the creation of accurate and detailed 2D drawings and 3D BIM models for busbar routes for commercial and data center buildings. This role will collaborate very closely with mechanical design engineers, project managers and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are compliant to agency and industry standards in addition to customer requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive instruction from Design Manager and prepare busbar layout 3D model and 2D shop drawings based on project requirement in accordance with Tender, Specification, Drawing delivery dates etc.
  • Conduct review meetings on each step of project execution with relevant members from Project team to ensure the customer requirements are met.
  • Keep a track and communicate BOQ changes to Design Manager and relevant project team.
  • Communicate effectively with the Design Manager with regards to some drawing and specification discrepancies to deliver quality drawings.
  • Complete each Project design on or before estimated date.
  • Adhere to H&S guidelines and policy of the company while in the factory and at the site.
  • Print what is necessary and reduce the usage of paper.
  • Forward the drawing to Design Manager to get drawing approval.
  • Follow up with Design Manager for pending inputs and make no assumptions.
  • Prepare site measurement based on input received from Design Manager.
  • At project close out:
    • Maintain zero error in design.
    • Update drawing locations of working and output files properly to Design Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in a BIM Coordinator role, preferably coordinating with all discipline sub-contractors for data center and high-rise building projects.
  • Proficient in 3D modeling and 2D drafting using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Strong knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) workflow.
  • Familiarity with work collaboration in local and cloud servers.
  • Understanding of ISO 19650 and best practices for drafting technical BIM drawings.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, Single Line Diagrams (SLD), blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit and NavisWorks required.
  • Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment independently and as a member of a dynamic team; offer and receive constructive criticism.
  • Demonstrated history of delivering BIM Models and shop drawings as part of a BIM team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
