Interested in shaping how advanced manufacturing equipment operates? Marvin is looking for an Electrical Controls Engineer to support our Custom Equipment Group (CEG) Controls Team. This role helps program, upgrade, specify, and maintain controls for manufacturing equipment across the facility. You’ll partner closely with manufacturing, maintenance, and engineering to design, implement, and support PLCs and operator controls.

This role is ideal for someone looking to grow a career in engineering. Whether you have an engineering degree or equivalent experience, we’re willing to train the right individual. You’ll excel if you’re passionate about improving machine efficiency, strengthening reliability, and supporting system enhancements that meet evolving production needs.

Highlights of your role

  • Provide electrical and controls support on capital and repair & maintenance (R&M) projects from scoping through implementation
  • Design and document electrical control systems, including control panels, schematics, control diagrams, and bills of materials
  • Help develop PLC and motion-control programming, including functional code and clear descriptions of operation for operator documentation
  • Improve equipment performance by supporting data transfer solutions, tracking downtime/OEE inputs, and troubleshooting controls-related issues
  • Specify and select electrical components, and create work-order-ready documentation for execution by maintenance teams

You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)

  • A bachelor’s or technical degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience (including 2-year programs such as mechatronics)
  • 1-3 years of related experience designing electrical, PLC, and motion controls
  • Experience with text-based coding languages such as Python, Java, and/or C++ (in addition to controls programming)
  • The ability to work cross-functionally with maintenance, manufacturing, engineering, and external vendors to deliver reliable solutions

Also want to make sure you have

  • Comfort estimating electrical project costs and supporting project budgets
  • A continuous-improvement mindset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
