Engineer - Highly Skilled

Full-Time, $31.00 an hour

Job Requirements:

• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Lead or assist in major maintenance projects and renovations.
• Respond to guest and staff service requests promptly and professionally.
• Perform routine inspections of systems and equipment, document findings and complete preventive maintenance tasks.
• Ensure compliance with all safety standards, codes, and procedures.
• Maintain proper operation of fire safety systems, boilers, pumps, elevators, and emergency generators.
• Mentor and support lower-level engineers and maintenance technicians.
• Maintain inventory of parts and tools; order supplies as needed.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors when required.

Qualifications:

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in engineering or facility maintenance, preferably in a hotel or resort environment.
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems.
• EPA Universal refrigerant certification preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving communication and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead technical projects.
• high school diploma or GED required, technical or trade school certification preferred.

Physical requirements

• Must be able to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crouch for extended periods.
• Ability to lift push and pull up to 50lbs and handle heavy equipment and tools.
• Must be able to work in tight spaces, on ladders, rooftops, and in extreme temperatures (hot/cold/mechanical rooms)
• Must be able to visually and aurally direct irregularities in equipment and systems.
• Manual dexterity required for using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Must be able to work on-call nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
