Avantor is looking for an Engineer for the Global Networking Team (L3 Support), who will be responsible for providing advanced operational support, troubleshooting, and escalation management for Avantor’s global enterprise network infrastructure.
This role focuses on ensuring reliability, performance, and adherence to standards across the global network, supporting continuous business operations.
The ideal candidate possesses strong technical troubleshooting skills, a deep understanding of enterprise networking technologies, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, and service providers to resolve complex issues.
What we’re looking for
Education: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in IT network operations or support roles within large-scale enterprise environments.
Preferred Qualification:
Proven experience supporting multi-site, hybrid WAN/LAN environments with 24x7 operational requirements.
Hands-on experience in incident management, troubleshooting, and coordination with external vendors and service providers.
Strong troubleshooting skills across Layers 1–7.
In-depth knowledge of routing, switching, wireless, and VPN technologies.
Familiarity with SD-WAN and cloud connectivity (Azure, AWS) is desirable.
Experience with network monitoring and management tools such as SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, or similar platforms.
Experience supporting Cisco, F5, Palo Alto, Viptela, Meraki, and Aruba network platforms.
Proven ability to perform RCA and resolve complex, escalated network incidents.
Strong understanding of enterprise network architecture and operational practices.
Certifications:
CCNA or equivalent required; CCNP or vendor-specific certifications (Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, etc.) will be an added advantage.

Network Operations & Support:
Provide Level 3 operational support for WAN, LAN, Wireless, SD-WAN, VPN, and Internet services in a global enterprise environment.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex network incidents escalated from Level 1 and Level 2 teams.
Perform root-cause analysis (RCA) and post-incident reviews to identify recurring issues and implement corrective actions.
Maintain and update network documentation, configurations, and topology diagrams to reflect operational changes.
Incident & Problem Management:
Manage critical and high-severity network incidents, ensuring timely communication and resolution.
Work with monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and mitigate potential network disruptions.
Coordinate with internal teams and external providers during outage situations and follow through until resolution.
Develop knowledge base articles and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve support response and consistency.
Optimization & Maintenance:
Participate in routine maintenance, patching, and firmware upgrades to maintain network stability and compliance.
Recommend configuration or policy changes to improve network performance and reliability.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and standardization across network environments.
Vendor & Partner Engagement:
Collaborate with telecommunications carriers, Internet service providers, and hardware vendors to resolve network incidents and service issues.
Support Service Level Agreement (SLA) monitoring and vendor performance reviews.
Ensure service providers deliver consistent support and escalate unresolved issues when necessary.
Collaboration & Communication:
Act as a subject matter expert for escalated issues, assisting internal IT and Security teams.
Communicate incident status, RCA outcomes, and improvement actions clearly to management and stakeholders.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to Level 1 & 2 support teams.
