Working in the Fiber to the Home Build team:  

The FttH Build team owns the end to end delivery of Connectable Premises. This includes the planning and forecasting of the FttH rollout roadmap on strategic and tactical level, assuring network design, allocating the correct Partners to the Build out of the network, and following up of the network construction and delivery within budget and time, respecting the engineering design rules to assure qualitative delivery. We as a team also focus on a strong relationship with municipalities to minimize delay on the rollout plan.

Your role as Engineer FTTH Build

The Engineer Build is responsible for the design, execution, support and continuous improvement of the Wyre FTTH feeder and HUB connectivity and FTTH network and related processes and applications in a cost-effective way in coordination/cooperation with the involved teams and/or subcontractors to ensure the Wyre network services.

Your responsibilities:

• Designs FTTH feeder connections based on tertiary loop capacity and upgrade planning, in accordance to the guidelines and determines the design of the network, in line with the strategical goals for both the network as for the company. Supports acceptance of those activities. Gives feedback from lessons-learned and other findings
• Documents work orders based on design schemas to facilitate the handover to build teams and manages the related workflows in the management platforms and in the Digital Twin GIS applications
• Monitors, performs trouble shoots and designs solutions to improve the quality and cost of the network (and/or the achievement of the defined Key Performance Indicators – KPI’s) and the efficiency of the deployed resources. Keeps focus on capacity management based upon KPI’s and performance
• Makes the trade-off between project phasing, capacity, costs in the short- and midterm to achieve to the best Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), reducing the impact on stakeholders/customers to the minimum. Supports financial insights by giving input for budget forecast, following up, verifying/validating bills, reporting to management and related partners/subcontractors
• Coordinates external stakeholders and operational partners in the design, execution and delivery phases including consulting, monitoring and evaluating teams of contractors.
• Acts as an expert within own domain of expertise and solves problems where expertise is needed and acts as specialist in 3th line in his domain on assigned area with E2E responsibility. Is responsible for the execution of projects, including proactive reporting to stakeholders
• Contributes to new and improving existing processes and Wyre Way Of Working by creating documentation, training and guidelines for internal/external purposes. Participates in setting up new, improving existing and testing applications.

Our ideal candidate:

• Has strong understanding of the FttH build processes and is able to translate them in understandable language for specific user groups
• Has experience in Fiber network design and appropriate GIS and design tools
• Has insight into concept of how to ensure quality in practice
• Skilled in building and maintaining inter-team and partner relationships, directly or via suppliers & Partners
• Strong problem-solving skills to resolve quality issues proactively and efficiently, based on performance reports, users feedback and own knowledge
• Effective communicator with ability to convey operational information to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Knowledge of Dutch and English is key, French is a nice to have
