About the Role

Perform injection molding-related functions to assist in the manufacturing of existing products and the development of new products. Interacts with all divisions of Manufacturing and Development including Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Development, Tool Room, Quality, Purchasing, Product Management, and Maintenance.

What You Will Do

  • Provides plastic injection molding technical support to address and resolve any manufacturing and processing issues including, but not limited to.
  • Provides manufacturing assessment
  • Leads and/or participates in continuous improvement activities targeted to facilitate improvements in quality, productivity, and safety, and reductions in scrap and machine downtime.
  • Conducts initial injection molding samples to verify internal process and mold capabilities.
  • Responsible for the specification, procurement, and coordination of installation/start-up of new equipment.
  • Provides Design for Manufacturability feedback on new mold designs and ECNs.
  • Manages projects related to new injection mold builds and modifications for production.
  • Performs plastic flow analysis and makes product recommendations/work instructions based on results.
  • Provides guidance to Lead Molding Machine Operator(s) ensuring appropriate and timely direction and training.
  • Assessing resource requirements and opportunities for Automation and Process Productivity improvement.
  • Identify faults, diagnose problems (using PLC and other tools), and coordinate major or minor repairs.
  • Lead the validation, installation, configuration, and maintenance of new and existing molds.
  • Provide technical support to production to solve quality or process problems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards (e.g., Lockout/Tagout).
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance history and activities performed.

What You Need to Be Successful

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or relate field with 5+ years’ work experience.
  • Preferred to have hands-on engineering knowledge of plastic injection molding including part manufacturability, processing & automation. Must have ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Advanced experience in injection molding and mold maintenance.
  • PLC and automation system operation.
  • English 80%
