About the Role

In the role of Equipment Engineer (Automation), you will have the opportunity to work within our Automotive Division. You will be responsible for maintenance & optimization of automated production systems. This role covers KUKA robots, Beckhoff PLCs, vision inspection systems, MES & supporting new equipment installations.

What You Will Do

  • Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain KUKA robotic systems.
  • Program and repair Beckhoff PLCs to ensure stable and efficient automation.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot vision inspection systems used in production.
  • Share knowledge and provide training on vision system operation and optimization to Automation Engineers.
  • Monitor and support MES operations to ensure accurate production data tracking and system integration.
  • Collaborate with IT and production teams to resolve MES related issues.
  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules using SAP PM.
  • Record and track maintenance actions and equipment history.
  • Analyze maintenance data to reduce equipment downtime and improve reliability.
  • Perform regular inspections and repairs on production equipment.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts to resolve equipment failures quickly.
  • Maintain and propose appropriate spare parts inventory for the tool crib.
  • Take ownership of maintenance activities for assembly lines.
  • Ensure minimal disruption to production through proactive maintenance.
  • Mentor and train Automation Engineers in robotics, PLCs, vision systems, and SAP PM.
  • Share technical knowledge and best practices across the team.
  • Setup and install new equipment and production lines.

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing / Industry / Electronic / Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent.
  • Strong communicator and excellent team builder.
  • Good Experience in ISO/IATF16949 quality system, Lean manufacturing.
  • Operate Automation assembly line, Robot and PLC/C#/VB/visual inspection system related knowledge and 5 years or more maintenance experience.

Bonus Points if You Have

  • Language skill: English (read, oral and write)
  • Be familiar with non-standard equipment maintenance.
  • Be familiar with Robot, PLC (Beckhoff, Omron)/C#/VB/Cognex vision inspection related knowledge and have experience in application debugging.
  • Be familiar with ISO/IATF16949 quality system and TPM system.
  • AutoCAD/SolidWorks/EPLAN.
  • Good communication skills and leadership, a fair mind, strong sense of responsibility
