Job Description

To oversee, inspect, and ensure quality execution of all electrical works related to road and highway infrastructure projects, including street lighting, traffic management systems, and associated utility coordination, in compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

1. Site Inspection & Monitoring

  • Inspect ongoing electrical works including:
    • Street lighting systems (LED, solar, high mast)
    • Traffic signals and road safety systems
    • Cabling works (underground/overhead)
    • Electrical panels, feeder pillars, and junction boxes
  • Verify that execution aligns with approved drawings, BOQs, and method statements.

Quality Control

  • Ensure materials and workmanship meet specified quality standards (IRC, IS, IEC, or relevant codes).
  • Check installation procedures and identify non-conformities.
  • Report defects and ensure timely corrective actions by contractors.

Testing & Verification

  • Witness and verify electrical testing activities such as:
    • Insulation resistance tests
    • Continuity tests
    • Earthing and grounding tests
  • Functional testing of lighting and signal systems
  • Maintain proper records of all inspection and test results.
  • Diploma / ITI / Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Relevant certifications in electrical inspection or safety (preferred).

Experience Requirements

  • 3–7 years of relevant experience in electrical inspection.
  • Prior experience in roads & highways or infrastructure supervision projects is highly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in site inspection, testing, and quality control.
