The Opportunity
We are currently on the lookout for a Engineer - Data Engineeringto join our team.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop scalable data solutions to support business and analytics use cases for one of the world’s largest corporations involved in the marketing and distribution of food products.
Implementingdistributed andhighly availabledata processing applications that scale for enterprise demandson Cloud Services such asAWS
Design, develop andmaintaindata pipelines integrating multiple source systems and targets.
Adheringto Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery of solutions
Ensuringhigh code quality by followingsoftwareengineering best practices
Workingcollaboratively in a cross-functional team in an Agile delivery environment
Adheringto DevOps principles and beinginvolved in projects throughout their full software lifecycle:from development, QA, and deploymentto post-production support
Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure tasks are completed on time and meet expectations.
Support end-to-end delivery of projects, covering analysis, development, deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Requirements:
ABachelor's Degree in Computer Scienceor equivalent, and 1-2 years of experience in developing enterprise grade data processing applications
Strong programming background in data ops (Python, Shell, SQL)
Strong SQL knowledge (query writing, optimization, and performance tuning).
Experience in processing large volumes of data
Hands-on experience working with relational/NoSQL databases and distributed storage engines
Hands-on experience in ETL/ELT design and development using tools such as Apache Airflow (or AWS Managed Workflows for Apache Airflow - MWAA), AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, Amazon EMR, Apache Spark, and Hive
Experience in working with streaming data (Kafka, Storm, Spark) will be an added advantage
Experience with API integrations and handling external data sources.
Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS): Strong working knowledge of core data services including Amazon Aurora (MySQL/PostgreSQL), Amazon Redshift, AWS Lambda, AWS Database Migration Service (DMS), Amazon EC2, Amazon S3 and AWS Glue for data processing, migration, and orchestration
Experience building andoptimizingdata warehouses on Amazon Redshift, including distribution/sort key design, workload management (WLM), Redshift Spectrum, and performance tuning.
Experience working with serverlesscomputer(AWS Lambda) and containerized workloads (ECS/EKS, Fargate) for event-driven data processing.
Experience working in a Scrum Agile delivery environment and DevOps practices
Experience in code management and CI/CD tools such asGithub, Gitlab and Jenkins
Experience in an agile environment and aligning POD members on technical visions and path to implementation
A strong desireto continue to grow your skillset
Strong communicationskills that are influential and convincing
Experience with application monitoring (Datadog, or equivalent) will be an added advantage
A passion for building andmaintainingdata solutions (data warehousing, data marts, data lakes, data mesh) will be an added advantage
